Specializing in practical movement solutions for Hong Kong’s urban lifestyle
David’s path into functional fitness wasn’t planned. During his university years at HKU, he watched classmates struggle with repetitive strain injuries from endless hours hunched over desks. Wrist pain. Neck tension. Lower back complaints. The pattern was clear—strength training alone wasn’t fixing what desk work had broken. That realization stuck with him. After graduating in 2012 with a degree in Sports Science, he committed to understanding movement in a different way.
His first five years were spent at a premium fitness facility in Central, where he worked primarily with corporate clients—people just like those university classmates, but now with actual injuries. David didn’t just write them workout plans. He learned to assess their movement, identify dysfunction patterns, and build programs that fixed root problems instead of papering over symptoms. In 2017, he pursued advanced certifications in corrective exercise and movement assessment, including his NASM-PES credential. That’s when everything clicked. He’d finally found what he was looking for: the science behind why bodies move the way they do.
Traditional strength training works. But it doesn’t address the specific movement dysfunctions that plague Hong Kong’s sedentary, high-pressure urban population. David’s breakthrough came when he started integrating balance and coordination drills designed for real life—navigating crowded MTR platforms without losing your footing, carrying groceries up narrow apartment stairs, maintaining stability on uneven terrain. These aren’t gym-specific movements. They’re the things people actually do. And when you train them properly, everything changes. People walk differently. They feel stronger. More confident. Less pain.
Over 2,000 clients have trained under David’s guidance. Office workers who’ve regained mobility. Older adults who’ve reclaimed independence. Young professionals who’ve finally fixed that chronic shoulder problem. Every success reinforces his core belief: strength and coordination aren’t luxuries for athletes. They’re essential tools for everyone. That’s why he joined MoveMaster HK Limited as Senior Content Director. He’s on a mission to translate evidence-based functional fitness into practical guidance that Hong Kong residents can actually use. No fluff. No trends. Just movement that works.
